Iceworks Project
Over the winter of 2011-20I2 I undertook a series of ice-based “Earthworks” that inverted familiar hot glass-making techniques such as casting, staining, laminating, fusing etc.; i.e. instead of using heated silica and metal salts, I used freezing water and organic matter to create fleeting, site-specific images/objects in Frontenac Park. This work was made possible with the support of an Ontario Arts Council Chalmers Fellowship and was documented by filmmaker Adriana Monti.
